Crisis Leadership: How Can Circle 6 Survive?
Abstract
A crisis that threatens this telecommunications company’s viability stems from a series of strategic failures that led to the resignation of the board of directors, which consisted of the entire management team. Many internal controllable factors led to this crisis. Emerging external disruptive technologies make the case’s timeframe one of the most exciting in its industry creating new challenges and opportunities for the next generation of leadership to address. However, none of the individual contributors have experience running a business and as the remaining staff struggles to take charge of their destiny, a senior software engineer emerges to address the void. He sums up the situation with: “No more excuses, no one to hide behind, and the company’s destiny will be in our hands. Now, what should we do?”
